Was the problem you had really in the transmission? Or did you pay for a transmission you didn’t really need? Many general repair shops are getting into the transmission repair business by offering to install “reman” transmissions.

What is a reman? A reman is a transmission that’s been remanufactured in a factory setting, and shipped to the repair shop to be installed as a complete unit.

Is it okay to buy a reman? That’s a pretty broad question. The answer depends on the quality of the reman itself. Some are very high quality; others less so.

More important than the reman itself, however, is the shop or technician performing the diagnosis. Remember: Many cars with transmission problems don’t actually need a new transmission. And, if your car doesn’t need a new transmission, you shouldn’t pay for one.

But if the technician performing the diagnosis doesn’t have the skill or experience with your car’s transmission, you might easily find yourself paying for a new transmission… whether you need one or not.

If the reman transmission still doesn’t work, the reman companies have technicians on staff to help the shop work through the actual problem. So your car will probably shift just fine when you get it back. The only question then is: At “Crown Transmissions, Transmissions” is our business!!

Mr Macy took great care of me after another shop told me I needed a new transmission. Crown did the proper testing and diagnostics to track down the problem, which ended up being much simpler than replacing a transmission! Very happy with the service and straight forward answers from Mr. Macy and Crown Transmission.

This place is very professional and the owner is very down to earth. He did not have my car sitting for weeks how usual shops do. He was very straight forward and clear and doesn’t make decisions without the car owners discretion.

I had an amazing experience here and worked with the owner one on one to figure out my transmission issues. They were honest and transparent with their process of diagnosis and kept in close communication throughout the process along with asking for approval, and giving estimates along the way.Once the fixes were made I went and paid. I got into an amazing conversation with the owner about personal life experiences and he gave me great outlooks and advice; he also took me to my vehicle and showed me exactly what they did and even pointed out other concerns that had nothing to do with their line of business.Thank you Crown Transmission, so much for the great customer service and repairs on my vehicle. I Highly Recommended. Crown Transmission! The transmission on my 2006 Nissan Titan went out around 11:00 PM. I called Macy the next morning. He arranged pick up for my truck and was able to find me the best affordable option for my Vehicle. It was a stressful situation but Macy was great and really helped ease my mind. The service was turned around in a couple of days which was awesome too!

Mr. Macy is awesome!! I came in to get a second opinion after the dealership told me my car needed a new transmission which was over $5,000. Not to mention I just spent over $2,000 for other repairs they swore I needed. Only to misdiagnose my car. My dad told me to find a transmission shop that specializes only in transmissions. I am from the Marietta area so I when I came across Crown Transmission I was very impressed by the previous reviews. I called the shop and got the owner Mr. Macy himself. He was very kind and very knowledgeable when it comes to transmissions. He told me to bring my car in and he would do his best and all he could to help me. Well he definitely did that and more. He called me back and explained what was going on with my car & and the repairs he needed to make. He had my car fixed within 2 days and it runs like a brand new car. I am so thankful for the service I received and Mr. Macy is truly a blessing. Saved me car and my pockets. I would 100% recommend anyone with transmission issues to come get a second opinion here with Mr. Macy, he is fair and it could save you 1,000s of dollars.
